Complex Cities staff and an ex-student have had two papers published in the latest issue of the Journal of Space Syntax. This issue is dedicated to the theme of Urban Challenges. Stephen Read contributed a paper called “Intensive urbanisation: Levels, networks and central places” while Yu Ye and Akkelies Van Nes contributed “Measuring urban maturation processes in Dutch and Chinese new towns: Combining street network configuration with building density and degree of land use diversification through GIS”. Both of these papers are important additions to the research of the studio and research programme and both will be on the list of literature and required reading for students doing projects these papers are relevant for.
