In his introduction to Complex cities graduations Vincent Nadin encouraged students to consider the big challenges that cities and regions face across the world – not least reconciling the need for more sustainability and addressing the risks of climate change with economic competitiveness, prosperity and urban growth. Though challenges vary according to local conditions, the need for more effective and sensitive urbanism and planning is common.
