The societal and scientific relevance of projects was an issue during the Complex cities coaching session on Wednesday, 16 September. During a brief discussion students were encouraged to consider the intended impact of their graduation projects. Does a project address peers? Which distinct community of researchers? Does it inform policy makers? A business community? A group of professionals? Or the broader public? Sources to anticipate on the relevance of projects are divers. Citations, key-note speeches, reports, visions, newspaper articles, social media, etc. The discussion was meant to encourage students to search for impact. A refinement of keywords is important to gain a picture of relevance!
