In recent writing, Wil Zonneveld and Vincent Nadin elaborated on relations among planning, design and research in Urbanism as it is tought in Delft: ‘Planning at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft occupies a special position in the Netherlands as a result of its relationship with spatial design at the same faculty. Planning forms part of the subject of urbanism. Even though planning is a clearly identifiable discipline in scientific research, students do not graduate as planning specialists – instead, they train to be urbanists. How does that work?’ For an English translation of: Zonneveld, W. & Nadin, V. (2015) Tussen ontwerp en onderzoek: Planologie in Delft, Rooilijn, 48(1), pp.56-61, see here.
