This interactive lecture will discuss the issues of governance, stakeholders participation and conflict in planning. The purpose is to draw attention to the importance of stakeholders and power relations for the planning process, while at the same time discussing the role of the planner and possible strategies to adopt in the face of a tension and clashing interests of the different actors involved in or concerned by planning decisions. The discussion offers helpful insight into governance and stakeholders issues to be considered in the students’ graduation projects.
Note: Due to the Urban & Landscape Week (for more information, see here), organized by Polis and taking place from Monday October 17 up and until Wednesday October 19, this common Complex cities session is moved from a Wednesday to a Thursday.
