In her 2017 Complex cities graduation Alankrita Sarkar has investigated the concept of smart cities and how it can be applied in the context of Indian cities, shaped by a rapid change of lifestyle, mass migration to cities, high demands of infrastructure, scarce resources, and unapproachable government. She also explored the conditional development of smart cities more broadly, investigating various examples from different continents and producing an analytical framework towards an approach of making a city smarter.
