Lei Qu’s research work focuses on Chinese cities and regions; her expertise is evidenced by her multiple publications and widely recognized by her network of Chinese partner institutes. Her collaboration with graduation students has often exceeded just mentoring; she has also contributed to the building of dedicated research platforms (see e.g. Shenzhen Scenarios 2.0, a collaboration with the New Towns Institute, INTI) and the organisation of dedicated exhibitions (see e.g. Mapping Atlas of Shenzhen – Urban Villages, a contribution to the of 2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture in Shenzhen).
